Curriculum - Law - Godwin's Law [Nazi Cat]

The art of applying Godwin's Law is in the timing, for it's usually not a matter of "if" but "when" an unfortunate comparison to Adolf Hitler or his Nazis will occur, particularly in heated debates which take place on the internet.  A few topics of interest covered by this course include:

  • Minimalist mustache styling
  • Formal "high-handed" salutations
  • Grammar Nazis
  • Spelling Nazis
  • Mike Godwin (creator of Godwin's Law in 1990 CE {contemporary history})

Being a practitioner of Godwin's Law is easy, but evading or preventing its invocation can be a most burdensome task (especially for debate moderators).  Fortunately, sufficiently harsh training from the Hard Knocks Academy provides students with some important mitigative tools, such as identifying or predicting it, which are important parts of developing effective salvage-and-recovery strategies.

Please note that for maximum academic effectiveness, the German-language version of this course is recommended.

"The leader of genius must have the ability to make different opponents appear as if they belonged to one category."
-- Adolf Hitler, Chancellor of Germany

"The broad masses of a nation are always more easily corrupted in the deeper strata of their emotional nature than consciously or voluntarily; and thus in the primitive simplicity of their minds they more readily fall victims to the big lie than the small lie, since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but would be ashamed to resort to large-scale falsehoods."
-- Adolf Hitler, Chancellor of Germany

"Obstacles do not exist to be surrendered to, but only to be broken."
-- Adolf Hitler, Chancellor of Germany

"Non-violence leads to the highest ethics, which is the goal of all evolution.  Until we stop harming all other living beings, we are still savages."
-- Thomas A. Edison
